FinancialCyclesWeekly.com #0529 -- July 17-23, 02005 with Tim Bost

COMMENT: For the past couple of days we have been in Orlando, Florida, participating in the Fibonacci Trader Workshop sponsored by PAS-Fibonacci Trader Corporation of Jacksonville, Florida. Fibonacci Trader is one of the software programs that we regularly use in our work with the stock market.

This software has several key features that make it an important tool for serious astro-traders. While there are other programs currently available that offer excellent tools for in-depth research into the astrological factors at work in the markets, Fibonacci Trader is specifically designed as a high-powered trading platform. It accommodates real-time or end-of-day data feeds from all major data vendors, and is customizable to meet the trading needs of traders in all markets. It not only features almost every state-of-the art technical trading tool that you will find in other professional trading programs, but also a wonderful array of proprietary trading tools developed by the late Robert Krausz.

Robert Krausz pioneered the use of Multiple Time Frames in technical analysis, and Fibonacci Trader is unique in its ability to display Multiple Time Frame factors (such as daily, weekly, and monthly price bars) simultaneously on a single market chart. Because it involves a "cycles within cycles" approach, Multiple Time Frame analysis is especially appropriate for financial astrologers who want to trade profitably in harmony with the natural rhythm of the markets.

But this program's usefulness to astro-traders doesn't stop there. Galactic Trader, a sister program also developed and distributed by PAS-Fibonacci Trader Corporation, interfaces seamlessly with Fibonacci Trader to create a truly amazing astro-trading platform. With the combination of the two programs, you can not only trade intraday or long term in any market; you can also combine technical indicators with astrological highlights and planetary lines. This is an extraordinarily powerful combination that can add clarity, confidence, and increased profitability to active trading. If you're serious about using astrological insights as a part of a professional trading plan, we highly recommend that you visit the PAS-Fibonacci Trader Corporation website for the Galactic Trader software at www.galacticinvestor.com.

FRESH INSIGHTS AND ASTRO-ENTHUSIASM

One of the best things about the Fibonacci Trader/Galactic Trader software is that it's being used by some of the top traders in the business, and PAS-Fibonacci Trader Corporation periodically brings groups of them together to talk about how they integrate the software's features with their personal trading strategies. That's what has been going in Orlando this week, and the speakers have really been first-rate. Yuri Shramenko, a veteran trader with nearly 20 years' experience, spoke about market theory and effective Forex day trading. Dennis Bolze of Advanced Trading Services shared his approaches to day trading and defining tradable trends. Mark Braun offered some brilliant insights into practical applications of Fibonacci time and price analysis. Perry Madich shared his considerable expertise at designing trading systems and customizing the software to match particular trading requirements.

Although financial astrology per se has not been the main topic at this workshop, there has been much discussion of the astrological advantages that can enhance trading performance. On Saturday evening we joined Yuri Shramenko in leading an informal discussion of some of the tools and techniques available to astro-traders today; about half the traders attending the workshop were interested enough in astrology to participate in the dialogue. The questions were wide-ranging and the net result was a lively and enlightening discussion.

The Fibonacci Trader workshop culminates on Monday with a day of live real-time trading demonstrations by several of the events' presenters. We're excited by the high caliber of the information that's being presented here, and are especially gratified to see so many of the participants expressing such a strong interest in incorporating astrology into their professional trading plans.

THE LIFE OF RUSSELL
The Russell 2000 Index hit a new all-time high this past week, right after we had flipped our indicators to suggest that bullish expectations were in order for intermediate-term trading action in the index. The top came with Venus in opposition to Neptune geocentrically and with a Saturn/Chiron opposition and a Sun/Pluto quincunx in right ascension.

THE MAGICAL ADVENTURE OF MAKING MONEY

J. K. Rowling, the author who created Harry Potter, took just 24 hours to add another $36 million (GBP20 million) to her net worth this weekend. Her sixth book about the boy wizard, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, went on sale at one minute past midnight on Saturday. During the first 24 hours of the volume's sales career, enthusiastic fans snatched up two million copies. The book is expected to smash all previous publishing records, with experts predicting worldwide sales in excess of 10 million copies.

AN ENRON END-RUN?

The board of directors of Enron Corporation has voted to give itself big pay raises, with Chairman John Ray III getting a cool $1 million boost in salary, from $200,000 to $1.2 million.

Vice Chairman Robert Deutschman got a raise from $150,000 to $420,000 annually. Three other board members had their pay double to $300,000 each.

None of the board members is an Enron employee. The board, which was chosen by creditors last year as part of the company's bankruptcy reorganization plan, voted to make its salary hikes retroactive to the beginning of June, saying that the increases were needed because "the involvement of the directors has exceeded the levels anticipated."

THE WEEK AHEAD

The week features a huge stream of earnings reports that have the potential to impact not only the prices of the equities involved but also the markets as a whole. We will be getting news from an incredible array of companies, including 3M (MMM), Bank of America Corporation (BAC), Bedford Property Investors (BED), Brown and Brown (BRO), Citigroup Inc. (C), Compass Bancshares (CBSS), Eaton (ETN), Hasbro (HAS), Hibernia Corporation (HIB), International Business Machines (IBM), Mattel (MAT), MBNA (KRB), Noble Corporation (NE), Steel Dynamics (STLD), Texas Regional Bancshares (TRBS), American Standard (ASD), Amgen (AMGN), AmSouth Bancorporation (ASO), Boston Scientific Corporation (BSX), Champion Enterprises, Inc. (CHB), Ford Motor Company (F), Forest Laboratories (FRX), Freescale Semiconductor (FSL), Freeport-McMoRan (FCX), Genuine Parts (GPC), Gilead Sciences (GILD), Intel Corporation (INTC), Johnson and Johnson (JNJ), Kraft Foods (KFT), Lone Star Technologies (LSS), Lucent Technologies (LU), Mellon Financial (MEL), Merrill Lynch (MNER), Millipore Corporation (MIL), Motorola Inc. (MOT), Mylan Laboratories (MYL), Novellus Systems, Inc. (NVLS), Radio Shack Corporation (RSH), Safeco Corporation (SAFC), State Street Corporation (STT), Stryker (SYK), SunTrust (STI), The Cheesecake Factory (CAKE), U.S. Bancorp (USB), Wachovia Corporation (WB), Wells Fargo (WFC), XTO Energy Inc. (XTO), Yahoo, Inc. (YHOO), Altria Group (MO), AT+T (T), Capital One Financial Corporation (COF), CIT Group (CIT), Dana (DCN), Eastman Kodak (EK), General Dynamics (GD), General Motors Corporation (GM), Golden West Financial (GDW), Honeywell (HON), Huntington Bancshares (HBAN), IMS Health (RX), J.P. Morgan Chase (JPM), Northern Trust (NTRS), Pfizer (PFE), Qualcomm (QCOM), Bank of New York (BK), Unisys (UIS), United Technologies (UTX), Washington Mutual (WM), Baxter International (BAX), Broadcom (BRCM), Callaway Golf (ELY), Caterpillar (CAT), Compuware Corporation (CPWR), D.R. Horton, (DHI), Delta Air Lines (DAL), Dover Corporation (DOV), Eli Lilly (LLY), EMC Corporation (EMC), Equifax, Inc. (EFX), Ingersoll-Rand (IR), Leggett and Platt (LEG), McDonalds Corporation (MCD), Merck (MRK), Microsoft (MSFT), Nextel Communications (NXTL), Office Depot (ODP), SBC Communications (SBC), Schering-Plough (SGP), Scientific Atlanta (SFA), Textron (TXT), Coca-Cola (KO), Hershey (HSY), New York Times (NYT), Union Pacific (UNP), United Parcel Service (UPS), Cummins Inc. (CMI), FPL Group (FPL), Halliburton Company (HAL), Schlumberger (SLB), and Occidental Petroleum (OXY). As we noted last week, with so many reports on the docket it will be unlikely that any one or two of them will generate an extreme reaction, but there are enough stocks here that play key roles in the market averages that index players will want to pay particular attention.

The economic calendar for the week includes word on Housing Starts, Jobless Claims, ICSC-UBS Store Sales, Investor Confidence, and Leading Indicators. The big economic news is most likely to be generated by Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, who will be making presentations to the House of Representatives on Wednesday and to the Senate on Thursday.

The astrological dynamics at play this week suggest that we could ready for a trend reversal in the equities markets, especially toward the end of the week, with the potential for a fairly healthy rally in the meantime. Trading gets underway on Monday with heliocentric aspects between Mars and Poseidon, Mars and Jupiter, and Venus and Hades holding sway. Tuesday promises to be a high-energy day with some positive market action under the heliocentric Venus/Uranus quincunx and the heliocentric Venus/Zeus conjunction.

Geocentric Mars semisquare Uranus and heliocentric Mars conjunct Uranus should help drive the markets up on Wednesday, but these aspects are also associated with acts of violence, accidents, and natural disasters. We'll need to be a bit cautious in interpersonal relationships, in travel, and in the ways that we take advantage of the market opportunities that present themselves.

It's the last couple of days of the week that look the most interesting, though. We'll have a Full Moon, a Mercury retrograde station, and a Poseidon station all combining forces to encourage emotional transitions, a need for rethinking and reconsidering our positions, and connecting with higher ideals and broader visions. The trading action on Thursday and Friday, as well as at the beginning of the following trading week, is thus likely to emphasis shifts in trend and/or momentum.

Have a great week!

SPIRITUAL FOCUS FOR THE WEEK

The greatest traders have all understood that emotional balance is the key to successful trading. Through Practical Spiritual Astrology we have an opportunity to restore inner harmony, enhance emotional balance, and make wiser choices in the markets.

There are compelling attractions to others as we start this week, propelling us dramatically toward more powerful emotional realizations and an expanded ability to take control of our own beliefs and attitudes. If we allow ourselves to assimilate this expanded awareness fully, we are likely to find that delicate and discerning judgments come much easily for us, guiding us effortlessly toward right actions as we nurture those around us.

STOCKS TO WATCH: ARE, LLTC, WLSN.

Alexandria Real Estate Equities Inc. (ARE)
NYSE
First Trade Date: 05/28/1997; 09:30 a.m.
Trading Strategy: Here's the first of three stocks we're looking at this week that all have May 28 First-Trade dates. Transiting Saturn conjoins the ARE First-Trade Ascendant later this week, and then transiting Jupiter will cross the First-Trade IC a few weeks later. That one-two punch by two key trend-generating planets is what all three of this week's stocks have in common, in each case creating the potential for a short-term price pull-back followed by a strong upward more in share price. In the case of ARE, we also have the True Lunar Node conjoining First-Trade Saturn, which supports bullish assumptions for this stock. Our plan is to enter a long position toward the end of this week, setting our initial stop at 73.00.

Linear Technology Corporation (LLTC)
NASDAQ; optionable
First Trade Date: 05/28/1986; 09:30 a.m.
Trading Strategy: With LLTC, the Saturn/Jupiter combination is augmented by Mars conjoining the First-Trade True Lunar Node. This is an aspect that has added some strength to the stock's price advance on previous occasions, so it increases our confidence in the profit potential for this trade. We plan to add a long position to the Model Portfolio early this week, with an initial stop set at 36.33.

Wilson's Leather Experts Inc. (WLSN)
NASDAQ
First Trade Date: 05/28/1997; 09:30 a.m.
Trading Strategy: Yes, the WLSN First-Trade horoscope is identical to the First-Trade chart for ARE. And, just like WLSN, our plan is to add a long position to the Model Portfolio toward the end of the week. Our initial stop will be set at 5.97.
